How Step Flex Works

Many custom-made orthotics are rigid or semi-rigid. They are commonly shaped to the foot as it presents and designed primarily to hold it in a supported position. While this can provide stability, it does not encourage the foot’s muscles and tendons to keep working with each step.

Step Flex takes a different approach. Its anatomically shaped design supports all three arches while remaining flexible. As you walk, Step Flex moves with your feet, encouraging the muscles and tendons to work as nature intended and supporting better alignment and more natural movement over time.

By supporting the feet without holding them rigidly in place, Step Flex helps you stay active and keep doing the things you enjoy.

What happens when you walk in Step Flex?

1. Supports the natural shape of the foot
Step Flex is anatomically shaped to support the foot comfortably and correctly.

2. Flexes with every step
As you walk, the orthotic flexes, encouraging the tendons and muscles to work as they should rather than remaining passive.

3. Helps support alignment and more natural movement
By supporting how the feet function, Step Flex improves alignment and encourages more natural movement through the feet, legs, and body.

Support for all three arches

The foot has three arches:

  • the medial arch
  • the lateral arch
  • the transverse arch

Step Flex supports all three. This helps distribute pressure more evenly through the foot and contributes to better overall foot function.

Many people are familiar with the main arch on the inside of the foot, but all three arches play an important role in balance, movement and support.

How step Flex work

Why foot function matters

Your feet form the foundation for the way you stand and move. When they do not function or align as they should, pressure is distributed unevenly, and additional strain is placed on the feet, legs, and wider body.

This can contribute to problems such as heel pain, bunions, calluses, corns, hammertoes, tired legs and discomfort in the knees, hips or lower back.

Hard surfaces, unsuitable footwear, and changes in strength and mobility over time can all affect how your feet function.

By supporting all three arches and encouraging more natural foot function, Step Flex helps create a stronger foundation for comfortable movement throughout the body. This can help you stay active, move with greater confidence and keep doing the things you enjoy.
